Water Damage
Sewage backups often present severe biohazard problems to homes and businesses. Sewage is contaminated matter that can cause serious health problems. The Institution of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification recognizes three levels of water damage.

Category 1
Clean water. Relatively safe, generally
from a clean source.

Category 2
Gray water - discharges from
dishwashers, washing machines
and toilets.
CAN ESCALATE TO CATEGORY
3 WITH TIME.

Category 3
Always contains pathogenic agents
and is grossly unsanitary. Sources
include river and flood water, ground
water run off and sanitary sewer
backflow.
CAUTION
Time is an important element in restoring water and sewage damages. Because of time and temperature any water damage can become a blackwater or category 3 condition. The longer water sits without removal, treating and drying then the greater the chance it will become contaminated and dangerous.

Our technicians are trained and equipped to handle these potentially dangerous situations. Protective biohazard attire is required. ServiceMaster will properly separate salvageable from unsalvageable items. We will arrange for disposal and inventory of unsalvageable content and structural items. We will clean and sanitize all salvageable items and provide a complete repair estimate.
